2023 Lobby Day for Community-Based Organizations
On November 6, 2023, members from Community-Based Organizations around Saskatchewan met in Regina for a lobby day to ask the government to do more for CBO workers.
Solidarity is a foundational principle of the labour movement. It allows trade unionists to come together and flex our collective power in support of our brothers, sisters, and comrades who have taken the decision to withhold their labour in an effort to reach a fair and equitable collective agreement at the bargaining table.
Following more than a year of negotiations, mediation, and Public Interest Commission hearings, PSAC members who work for the Treasury Board and Canada Revenue Agency voted in favour of strike action. On April 19, more than 155,000 workers have begun strike action, while their bargaining teams remain at the table working to achieve a fair deal. Members who wish to show solidarity and support for PSAC members may join a picket line. To find a picket line near you, visit PSAC online, where you can RSVP to a picket line, or read more about the issues they are fighting for, including job security, remote work, contracting out, privatization, systemic racism, and fair compensation.
